Opinion by Patricia L Johnson
The White House is in the process of creating a website where ‘we the people’ can go to offer suggestions on petitions. You can read all about it on at the following White House link:
As far as I’m concerned the very first petition that should be issued is one to remove all Republican Members of Congress, unless they start doing what they were hired to do.
When the United States House of Representatives requests the President of the United States to change the date of his jobs speech from the 7th of September to the 8th of September, so that it does not interfere with the Republican candidate debate of September 7, 2011, it’s time for those same Members of Congress to find employment elsewhere.
We are talking about the President speaking about a JOBS plan, yet the Republicans don’t want to be bothered with it because it will coincide with the debate of those running for office in 2012?
Do the people in this country really give a hickory nut what the Republican candidates have to say, or are they more interested in what actions this country can take to provide jobs for those who have been unemployed for months, and even years. Maybe it’s time for the pollsters to poll those whose opinions really matter – the unemployed!
It seems the Republican Party just cannot get its priorities straight. The needs of the people of the United States need to come first, not after the needs of the politicians.
The Republican Party has become an embarrassment to the United States.
