ManpowerGroup | Manpower Employment Outlook Survey – Global – 4th Qtr 2011

ManpowerGroup | Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

According to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey of global hiring trends released today, employers in 21 of 39 countries expect the fourth-quarter hiring pace to soften from the third quarter. However, Net Employment Outlooks remain in positive territory and are stronger than they were last year at this time in the majority of countries and territories that ManpowerGroup surveys. Other findings include:

  • Employers in Brazil, Taiwan, India and Singapore report the strongest job prospects, while hiring plans are weakest in Greece and Italy. Employers in Israel and Slovakia are surveyed for the first time this quarter.
  • Job prospects in the Asia Pacific region remain strong, despite expectations among employers in India and China to slow hiring from three months ago.
  • In Europe, labor market trends follow the same mixed results seen throughout 2011, with positive hiring activity expected in 18 of 23 countries surveyed.
  • In the Americas, employers in Brazil report the most optimistic hiring intentions for the quarter ahead. In contrast, U.S. employers expect to continue their cautious hiring approach through the end of the year.”
