  1. lol …

Buryakov, a Russian foreign intelligence agent, took a job at the Manhattan office of a Russian bank. It’s illegal for foreign intelligence agents to work in the U.S. without notifying our government that they are, in fact, foreign spies

Sporyshev and Podobnyy are also Russian foreign intelligence agents and working as Trade Representatives of the Russian Federation in New York. Apparently they are exempt from notifying our government they are foreign spies due to their United Nations attachment, but that doesn’t exempt them from working with unregistered agents (Buryakov) operating within the U.S.
Apparently Spoyrshev and Podobnyy attempted to recruit NYC residents as intelligent sources for Russia, had Buryakov gather intelligence information and then transmitted that intelligence information back to Russian spy headquarters. Their main interests appeared to be in the areas of potential sanctions against Russian banks and U.S. efforts to develop alternative energy sources. The people they were looking to recruit were tied to major U.S. corporation and or young women with ties to U.S. universities
    .
They have been under surveillance from March of 2012 through September of 2014 and all three of them are charged with two counts each, the first one carries a maximum penalty of five years, the second a maximum of 10 years.

How about an abbreviated, short hand version of what’s going on here?
